The first advanced physics course held by the international group of researchers participating in the APhRICA initiative has started on 2024, December 9th.
The QM1 (Quantum Mechanics 1) course is held by Dr. Andrea Marini and hosted by ICTP-EAIFR, in the Nyarugenge Campus of University of Rwanda.
The students admitted to the 2 week course belong to the ICTP-EAIFR 2024-25 Physics Master course of University of Rwanda and others come from the Technical University of Kenya in Nairobi.
The visit of the 10 Kenyan students is sponsored by the partnership between the Italian CNR-ISM and the ICTP-EAIFR.
The scholarships supporting the two-year master course of 7 selected ICTP-EAIFR students are entirely sponsored by ICTP (Trieste, Italy), CNR-ISM (Rome, Italy), EPFL (Lausanne, Swisse), CECAM (Lausanne, Swisse).
The program of the APhRICA training includes advanced courses as QM2 (Quantum Mechanics 2) and MBPT (Many Body Perturbation Theory) 1 and 2.
Together with Dr. Andrea Marini, the teachers are: Dr. Matteo Gatti (CNRS, Paris), Dr. Eleonora Luppi (NANO-CNR, Modena) and Prof. Olindo Corradini (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia).
